« In the past two years of taking part in the robotics team I have not only learned the value of hard-work, dedication, and organization but also the importance of teamwork and communication. I will never forget the late nights, my teammates and myself bonded as we made final adjustments to our robot as we waited anxiously for the competition of the next day. I could never picture my high school experience without going to the robotics lab every lunch to get some work done and share laughs with my teammates/family. I would never replace this experience for the world (except maybe VEX Worlds in Dallas, Texas!) »
« Being in the robotics team was unlike anything I’ve ever been part of. It’s hard work and long hours but at the end it always payed off. There’s nothing like it. Our team had the chance to participate in the Vex world competition, which is an experience I never thought I would have and I came out of with so many more skills and amazing bonds with my teammates. « As a journalist at CRC, I learned a lot. Firstly, technology. Just having access to specialized platforms has really enriched me. In journalism, you have to collect information from everyone to write texts. So it is important to stay up to date on what is going on and keep in mind all the good constructive feedbacks. « For me, Robotics Marcelline has been a unique experience that I will always remember. The spirit of mutual aid, competition and dynamism during the competition pushed me to give my 100%. « I loved participating in the CRC competition for several reasons. First, the atmosphere of the competition is really intense because it has many challenges, such as setting up the kiosk in a few hours, presenting it to judges and competing with other schools. In addition, I enjoyed working with my booth team. We innovated, created and set up a beautiful booth which I was very proud of. This rewarding experience allowed me to surpass myself and to realize new projects. »
« Robotics Marcelline was an experience that awakened an interest and a love for engineering. By building the kiosk, I was able to design a vital space for our team during the competition and put into action my artistic side. Indeed, we had to pay a lot of attention to the design and presentation of our kiosk; it was essential! Personally, CRC was one of my best experiences in high school because I had the chance to do something that I love, science, while being surrounded by a wonderful team of girls (I now see them as a family!). »
« It was an honor to be part of Marcelline robotics. According to me, it’s one of a kind experience because I find that there aren’t other schools that work as much as the Marcellines. As a member of the kiosk team even with the work intensity, it didn’t stop us from having fun. Plus, my team and I wanted to surpass ourselves non-stop and find additions to make the kiosk even better. We sacrificed several hours of sleep, but we arrived at a result that impressed us. « The experience that I had at the robotics club at Collège Ste-Marcelline, more precisely in the group VEX, changed me for the better. I learned concepts in construction and programming. These concepts helped me in my day to day life like, for example, when I want to build something without help from others. My capacity to understand technological objects and my capacity to work with other people greatly improved. It is strictly impossible to do everything alone in this competition. Communicating my thoughts with the appropriate language has become easier to do. Lastly, apart from the importance of the workload, I am absolutely convinced that having fun is the most important thing. I have grown tight bonds with the other members of the team. « My 2 years of participation in the Vex Robotics Competition were amazing, to say the least. VRC gives you the chance to compete in different regions and meet new people.
